CHECKING ONE OF THE ANCIENT HUGE ROCKS OF BOT ER MOHET

This 'Allée Couverte' = more than 7000 years old.

A new tableau of 45x60cm is on my easel. Two layers of gesso. Cerrulean blue + lemon yellow + lamp black: mixed.

Bot er Mohet is now painted/sketched with this colour. The Doll is (as always) present.

Definitaly worthwhile going to Amsterdam but you really need a whole day to view the art. Andrew Ntshabele with his 'Faith and Perseverance' was my favourite.

ANTIQUE BIBLES

My eldest brother Johan is a restorer of centuries-old antique bibles. When he was 14 years old he started 'working & learning' as a typesetter at De Spaarnestad, Haarlem. After a number of years he also learnt to be a bookbinder. Then started his own business with a qualified staff and heavy Heidelberg machinery. Now he restores antique bibles (including the copper locks) and artbooks. Sometimes, when the cover of an artbook is damaged he brings it to me to restore it.

ST. BAVO CHURCH LIT IN YELLOW & BLUE

Yesterday I found * photos of our decesed Haarlem-city-organist Piet Kee (et moi) who played so wonderful (as Mozart did too) the famous Müller organ in the St. Bavo church, Haarlem.

* Also V.'s little, funny drawings which show himself playing an organ in the 90ies. Piet wrote a message to V. in my Little Brown Book, years ago.
