Renate & I visited the exhibition of great paintings (Golden Age) from St Petersburg by Dutch masters : Rembrandt, Jan Steen and (that is very special) of several masters from Haarlem (Frans Hals, Wouwerman, Van Ostade etc.). The text: 'The rich city of Haarlem was the cradle of Dutch Art of Painting at the end of the 16th century', was a very pleasant surprise to read about our native soil.
