    De warmte van de open haard

    de warmte van je armen

    mijn blik beroert het warme vuur

    vuur laat de ketel warmen

    en ook de wijn, het zachte kleed

    waarop ik lig. Het leed

    verdwijnt net als de rook

    de schoorsteen in. Ik voel me loom

  • ERASER SHIELD

    To erase some véry small lines I often use my Fluor (1966) eraser shield. The little rough draft of the new little painting (13x18cm) : V. is holding the torch of the statue of Liberty. I started reading one of my academy-art-diaries (it definately is not only about art). This book also tells about 'the world as it is to-day'.

  • ALMOST A SOLEMN MOMENT . . .

    Aujourd'hui a new little drawing of Vincent, The Child & Doll shall be born.

    I started, as usual, with cutting a piece of yellowish, special paper of 12x12 cm, (after that: pruning the young willow trees in our garden), then I made the 8x8cm outlines of the drawing with a B-crayon (then I painted a flowerpot in yellowgreenish Breton ironpaint in the garden), then placed the 13x18 oilpainting (on panel) of Vincent, The Child & Doll (+ Statue) on a little chevalet to guide me. And now . . . yes!

  • TENTH ANNIVERSARY OF THE HERMITAGE AMSTERDAM

    Today a 10-year-old girl with the golden Hermitage flower is added to the painting 'Wij Samen 3' to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Hermitage Amsterdam.

    A real celebration 🍷 in the Orgelzaal for the friends-from-the-start. Merci, monsieur Ernst Veen, for writing on my drawingcard (almost a tradition).

  • BIRCH TREE

    My favourite tree is the Birch tree. When our dear friend Slava (saxofonist) died in 2014 we planted a young SilverBirch tree in our Dutch garden. This special tree shall be painted too on We Together/Nous Ensemble.
