    The 'new' little (13x18cm) oilpainting is finished. Peter: "you can never make the same painting again, Munck said". Of course that's is true. But you can add something to make (in my little paintings) Vincents (+ Child & Doll) story more complete.

  • GAUGUIN AND LAVAL AT MARTINIQUE

    This Martinique-exhibition at the Van Gogh-museum was very interesting, also because there were several paintings and objects from private collections. Pont-Aven, the village in Brittany where my 'Crêpière de Penanros' is exhibited now, was mentioned many times.

    When we were on the first floor I saw beautiful stickers with hand-sketches, made by Vincent. To receive one I had to make a drawing. A. said later:  "You were looking só Breton, before Vincents Sunflowers with the Gwenn-ha-Du-amulet around your neck, wearing your Breizh rings and sketching a Danseuse Bretonne!"

  • BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY, THE PROFESSOR AND REMBRANDT

    Why did I think of the film Bohemian Rhapsody when the friendly, wise professor, standing under Rembrandts painting 'De Anatomieles' showed us an African Proverb on the screen (lecture hall of UMC Amsterdam)?

  • PAINTED PASSEPARTOUT

    A new little drawing (for the chapel),11×14cm, in brown ink is washed with bister. The passepartout is made with graphite, aquarelpencil and pigmentliner 0.2mm.

  • EAST-INDIAN INK AND DE KUNSTLIJN HAARLEM

    'Grandma (mami) teaching me French' is a little 10x14cm east-indian-ink-drawing made to-day with a little pen on yellow-ocre washed paper. The ocre pigment comes from De Verfmolen (De Zaanse Schans). To-morrow the drawing shall be washed with brown ink. But before that: our dinner that opens our Kunstlijn Haarlem.

  • VENI VIDI VINCI In ABC

    Before going to Teylers Museum I decided to go to the ABC in Het Groot Heiligland, to admire the work of Haarlems artists (Joost Swarte, Paul van der Steen) inspired by Leonardo. Then I walked to De Waag, sat on the stairs of KZOD and sketched the people who were waiting to enter Teylers. Inside it was just impossible to draw. So after seeing and examining the, sometimes tiny, drawings (many from Windsor  Castle) of the exhibition  I walked to the workshoproom to see the results of Annemarie's teaching.

  • LITTLE DRAWINGS

    There are always pencils and little peaces of paper (10x7cm, Skizzenblock) in my purse. In the meantime there must be hundreds of little drawings, made in museums, restaurants, pubs etc.

    To-morrow I hope to be able to draw while visiting the Leonardo da Vinci  exhibition in Teylers. That might be difficult because so many people will be in the museum despite the timelock.
