This match (starts after 30 minutes) shall be a very (too) exciting one: FIFA Worldcup in Qatar. That is why in the meantime I shall print my new linograph with the Dutch colour orange. By the sounds in the living room I shall know exactly where 'we' stand.

PHILHARMONIE HAARLEM (ORKEST KAMERATA)

It is always a great pleasure to visit the Philharmonie and see the Frits van Dongen-zaal. Architect Frits showed us, students of the art-academy (years ago), the Philharmonie when the complete building was under restauration. Annette used my photographs to create a surprise for Frits. Later, in the ABC building, Frits wrote in my Little Brown Book.

GEDICHT 'EN ZIJ'

EN ZIJ

En ze sprak tot de droom

wie zijt gij en waar gaat gij?

de droom zwijgt en wijst

wijs naar hemel 

en ze sprak met de vrouw

wie bent u en wie bergt u?

de vrouw zingt en legt

een lied op haar buik

en zij streelde het kind

hoe leer je en hoe groei je?

het kind kijkt en reikt

haar zijn kleine hand

en ze sprak tot de steen

wat zijt ge en waar gaat ge?

de steen huilt en valt

in een land vol leed

En ze vond er een pen

wat schrijf je en waar blijf je?

de pen schrijft en legt

haar ziel in het woord

Dan kijkt ze naar de lucht

zo reist u en zo rust u?

de lucht zwijgt en zucht

de adem van vrijheid

"I AM ON TOP OF THE BAVO!"

"I am now on top of the Bavo. Not inside but outside!" said Marcel the painter,  when we called him. It must be amazing to view Haarlem from such a location. This special church with its Müller organ and the grave of Cajanus.

HOCKNEY'S EYE IN TEYLERS and CAJANUS

After visiting Teylers we walked to the Verwey Museum Haarlem and to my surprise the enormous 'dress' and huge shoes of Cajanus (2.64m tall, I made a poem about Cajanus) were exhibited in this recently restored museum. Thanks to the friends of Kees Verwey. This museum has become one of my favourites. My husband often visited Kees Verwey in his home at Spaarne 108.

PONT AUDEMER

After sleeping under my favourite birch trees in Beuvron en Auge: our usual lunch in Pont Audemer, the village that was liberated by our Fuseliers of Princess Irene in WWII.

"IT IS TIME FOR THE ANGELS"!

Said my husband who is definately a non-believer and he positioned the Angel-mirror-painting on the wall. The oval painting measures 120x43 cm. Four angels are holding a mirror of 38x27cm and one of them, of course, The Doll of Peace (La Poupée de La Paix). My husband with his huge moustache is painted as a sturdy Kelt (because he ís sturdy) and I with my Gwenn Ha Du (made by Lindsey May in the UK) around the neck. May the angels guard everyone who needs them !!

MATHURIN MÉHEUT IN PONT-AVEN

The exhibition of Mathurin Méheut in Pont-Aven showed not only very good fusain + gouache paintings but also paintings made with caseïne. Mathurin has his own museum in Brittany now since June in Lamballe. Again I could make a tiny drawing in Salle Julia sitting completely alone under one of the beautiful lamps.
